You don't have to carry what happened the same way forever.
Something happened that was too much, too fast, or went on too long, and part of you has been braced ever since. One overwhelming event, or years of things that quietly wore you down. Either way, your mind and body did what they had to do to get you through.
Trauma isn't a flaw in you. It's the imprint of something you survived. The reactions that don't seem to make sense now once kept you safe. This work is about helping your system learn, gently, that the danger has passed.
What trauma actually looks like
Being on edge for no reason you can point to. Sleep that won't come, or a calm that suddenly cracks. Memories that intrude, or stretches you can't fully recall. Feeling far from your own life, or the people in it.
It isn't only combat or single catastrophic events. A childhood that never felt safe, a loss, a medical crisis, a relationship that hurt, these leave a real imprint too. However it arrived, what you're living with now are the aftereffects of survival, and they deserve care, not judgment.
We move at the pace of your safety, never faster. There's no pressure to tell the whole story before you're ready. When you do want to put words to what happened, there's room for that too, and we approach it gently, together.
How the work happens
We move at the pace of your safety, never faster. There's no pressure to tell the whole story before you're ready. When you do want to put words to what happened, there's room for that too, and we approach it gently, together.
We help your body find a sense of safety in the present first. Then, as you're ready, we turn toward what happened, so it can begin to feel like the past rather than something still with you now.
Much of the healing happens inside a steady, trustworthy relationship. Being met with patience, without judgment, is often how a system that learned the world wasn't safe begins to soften.
What the work looks like together
We build a foundation of safety
The early work is about steadiness, feeling grounded enough in the present before we turn toward anything hard.
We go at your pace
There's no pressure to recount anything before you're ready. When you want to give words to what happened, there's a safe, unhurried place for it.
We gently work with what happened
As you're ready, we turn toward the memory with care, so it can begin to feel like the past rather than something still with you now.
You reclaim more of your life
The hope of the work isn't erasing what happened. It's carrying it more lightly, so it takes up less of your present, and more of your life feels like yours again.

Good things to know
What if I'm not ready to talk about what happened?
That's completely okay, and more common than you'd think. Much of this work can unfold without a detailed retelling. We start with steadiness, and anything more comes gently, in your time.
How do I know if what I went through “counts” as trauma?
If something has left a lasting mark on how you feel, sleep, or move through the world, it's worth caring for, whatever its size or shape. You don't have to justify your experience to seek support for it.
Can the impact of trauma really ease, or feel less intense over time?
For many people, it can. Trauma leaves a real imprint, but with steady, patient support, its grip on your days, your sleep, and your body can gradually loosen. Change tends to come slowly, and tends to hold.
Can we work together if I'm outside Los Angeles?
Yes. Our clinicians see clients via secure telehealth across California, you only need to be in the state.
