Therapy can be an opportunity for individuals to grow, understand themselves better and find an overall balance in life. I believe that individuals are resilient, capable of healing and can “flourish” despite any challenges they may face. As a therapist, I provide my clients with a safe, supportive and empathetic environment (with a bit of humor added in there). In our work together, we will explore your past and earlier experiences in hopes of gaining insight to how they have impacted your current life and functioning. We will identify any unhelpful patterns or behaviors that may be getting in the way of you reaching your fullest potential. Through a collaborative therapeutic relationship, I will work with my clients to process, challenge, and guide them to increase their self-awareness, and ultimately, create concrete positive changes in their lives.

I offer a personalized therapeutic approach tailored to my client’s individual needs which may include utilizing psychodynamic, attachment and client-centered theories. My specialties include depression, anxiety, life transitions, difficulty in life phases, attachment issues, identity development, and loss and grief. I especially love working with adults, young adults, adolescents, individuals  working in the entertainment industry, and those dealing with medical issues. I also have a special interest in multiculturalism and cultural identity development, specifically with Filipinos, Filipino Americans and other Asians and Asian Americans.

  • “I was a person who was raised with a stigma surrounding therapy especially regarding sharing of my problems with others. So to say I was apprehensive about the therapy experience was an understatement. My time seeing Dr. Cynthia’s gentle, calming, presence really put me at ease. She has her techniques of helping me explore myself in ways I have never imagined. I have grown as a person, immensely from our sessions. Thank you, Dr. Cynthia!”
